3D MODELLING

We are currently implementing new technologies and looking for new ways of providing better services so that all our clients have access to 3D modelling and BIM.

Slowly but surely, the technology of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and using cutting-edge 3D software such as Revit, Advance Steel or Tekla is gaining more and more popularity in the residential construction industry in New Zealand.

DTCE is no exception since we not only use high-quality AutoCAD 2D drafting but can also provide 3D Modelling and collaboration among all parties involved in the project by means of our Revit and Navisworks software environment.

We are currently implementing new technologies and looking for new ways of providing better services so that all our clients have access to 3D modelling and BIM.

We’ve found that due to BIM and its unified information space, our design work becomes faster, easier and more accurate, and collaboration between consultants and clients more efficient.  BIM modelling also allows us to drastically reduce any risks related to the project deliverables and ensure high-quality services throughout the whole project cycle, from a concept design phase to construction monitoring. At anytime, anybody from the project team can have access to up-to-date BIM 3D models of the buildings being designed in real-time, including clients, architects, structural engineers, city councils or contractors.

Furthermore, the BIM approach can reduce any possible clashes, which happen quite often during the construction phase. It’s easier to visualize complex details and joints, as well as forecast any issues before construction begins, so contractors don’t have to waste time finding solutions on-site. Moreover, any non-technical staff involved in the project, including clients, can easily see, understand, and take a part in the design process without needing expense technical software.

BIM and 3D modelling is the way of the future in the small-scale residential space and is no longer confined to large scale projects. DTCE is helping provide choice and clarity to all our clients as we develop our capabilities.

Drafting capabilities include a full cycle of drawing from concept through as built drawing for a wide variety of structural engineering in 2D AutoCAD and 3D Revit modeling.

Building Retrofit

BIM is far more advanced than a typical CAD rendering or 3D model (BIM plans capture vast amounts of building project data, from materials used to timing to maintenance information)
